Welcome to Energy Compass

After graduating from law school in 2022, I worked part-time with a power generation company during my NYSC, and that experience sparked something in me. It was my first real exposure to the energy sector, and I quickly became intrigued by how broad and layered it was. I knew I wanted to understand more.

But when I went online to learn, I found myself overwhelmed. There was a lot of information out there, but not a lot of guidance. As a young lawyer trying to navigate an entirely new field, I didn’t know where to begin. It was confusing and, at times, discouraging. What made a difference for me was having access to mentors and professionals who helped me make sense of it all. With their guidance, I decided to pursue a master’s in energy law to deepen my knowledge and take the next step.

That journey revealed something important: while there’s plenty of technical and legal information in the energy space, there’s very little designed for people at the entry point, students, legal professionals, and career changers who want clarity, not complexity.

That’s what led me to create Energy Compass.

As a legal professional with experience in regulatory compliance, legal advisory, and public-private partnerships, I’ve seen how important accessible knowledge is, especially in sectors like energy, where the learning curve can feel steep. Energy Compass is my way of bridging that gap. Through simplified insights, expert conversations, and practical content, my goal is to make the energy world less intimidating, and more empowering for anyone trying to find their way.
